Eligibility
This contest is designed for undergraduate students, but we allow the team to consist of up to 50% first-year graduate students.
Entry Fees:
- Fees significantly reduced for 2021, due to COVID-19 restrictions (see fee table below)
- First team: 1 Faculty Advisor + up to 6 students
- Extra team discount: up to 5 students per team (if registered under the same advisor)
- Each additional student participant: see appropriate table below
Due to limited space, WERC will be accepting up to 35 teams on a first-come first-served basis.

Order of registration (register at werc.nmsu.edu):
Faculty Advisors:
1) Sign up for an account and complete their profile.
2) Add student team members to the account and ask them to complete their profiles.
3) Pay online. Payment cannot be accessed until all team profiles are complete.
Students:
1) Receive emailed passwords after the Advisor adds them to the account.
2) Log into the WERC Contest Site
3) Complete their profiles.

Fees cover costs of contest administration, shipping synthetic solutions to you, shipping your results to the lab for testing, analytical testing of your results, and shipping SWAG and awards. | *A 2.5% Shopcart fee is added to your credit card order. |
Task 2 is a full bench-scale task, but will be charged at the desktop rate to give you room in your budget to ship your device to San Francisco.

Refund Policy
Registration fees will not be refunded, except for unavoidable circumstances. In that case, the team will be charged their part of expenses incurred at the point they exit the contest. For example, if WERC has already ordered synthetic solution for your task, the cost of materials will be subtracted from the fees you paid.
