Task I:
Decontamination of underground storage tanks and the surrounding soil. The hazardous contaminates of concern include halogenated solvents, volatile organics, heavy metals, radionuclides, and poly-chlorinated biphenyls.
Task II:
Decontamination of a waste form containing high levels of plutonium and RECRA listed solvents. This waste, in the form of fiber wound filter cartridges, (made by Ful Flo7) resulted from the filtration of lathe coolant comprised of Texaco Regal Type A oil (#643) and carbon tetrachloride containing minute machine cuttings of plutonium.
Task III:
Decontamination of radiologically contaminated waste units (i.e. seepage basins) that have vegetation growing in the sediments and/or in the immediate area of the waste unit. Vegetation uptakes the contaminants, including radionuclides, creating an immediate hazard due to direct exposure to radiation because of vegetation mobility and brush movement.
